Sketching for Game Art





This course is designed to equip students with some of the foundational sketching tools needed to begin learning concept art for games. Students will learn everything from basic anatomy to some of the core principles of character and concept design. This is a great course for anyone interested in a career in concept art.


Course Syllabus

As a result of successfully completing this course, students...

Will be able to:

  • Use basic anatomy in their drawings
  • Use geometric shapes as a foundation for character drawings
  • Draw various types of male and female heads
  • Draw in the style of various popular games

Will display the following attitudes/professional behaviors:

  • Meet assigned deadlines
  • Accept and apply critiques
  • Analyze and discuss work using industry specific terminology
  • Prepare for and contribute to class discussions and critiques
